Early Detection Plan
UI / UX
The best way to fight breast cancer is to have a plan that helps you detect the disease in its early stages. The National Breast Cancer Foundation's (NBCF) Early Detection Plan, or EDP, helps women identify breast cancer early which has a dramatic effect on survival rate. As the design lead on this project, I worked with the team at NBCF to redesign the app entirely.
Designing for emotion, inspiring hope.
When it came to designing the interface, I wanted to ensure that each woman that used EDP understood that their health mattered and felt empowered to make informed decisions. This directed us to soften the overall color palette a bit and lead with introducing women who have not only faced these circumstances, but have overcome them.
App Store Review
"I love the new EDP app! It's absolutely wonderful!"
The redesign was well received by people who used the app often, with many of them commenting on how the overall impression they got from the app was one of care for it's users. I credit this to the heavy consideration and focus I put on how this sensitive topic could be discussed globally, and among different types of people.
